About this product
Blue DEF is a high-quality diesel exhaust fluid designed for use in Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) systems, which are used by most medium- and heavy-duty engine manufacturers to meet EPA 2010 emissions standards. It is a non-toxic, clear, and odorless solution made up of 32.5% ultra-pure automotive-grade urea and 67.5% deionized water.
Blue DEF is not a fuel or fuel additive. Instead, it is injected into the exhaust stream, where it reacts with a catalyst to convert harmful nitrogen oxides (NOx) into harmless nitrogen gas and water vapor—both naturally occurring components of clean air.
Certified by the American Petroleum Institute (API) and compliant with ISO 22241 standards for purity and composition, Blue DEF meets the highest safety and quality benchmarks to ensure optimal SCR system performance.
Monitoring DEF levels is easy—simply check the DEF gauge, which is integrated with the diesel fuel gauge. The DEF is stored in a dedicated tank located next to the fuel tank on the driver's side. These tanks typically range from 6 to 23 gallons, depending on the vehicle. The DEF fill port is specifically designed to accept only DEF nozzles, preventing accidental contamination from diesel fuel nozzles.
